A Message from the President of SMC

Social Media Club kicks off semester at SJMC Showcase

After months of preparation, Social Media Club debuted its new chapter at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Showcase, which included various student organizations like KTSW radio station and the Association for Women in Communications.

The event was a great way for SMC to reach out to students and explain to them how social media can help impact their future careers. This semester will offer students valuable information on how to use these tools to build themselves as a marketable brand for future employers.

During the fall semester, there will be three meetings featuring guest speakers that will tell students first hand what they are looking for, what they need to know and how to brand yourself. This is information that you can't get in a class room.

First meeting of the semester will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Meetings will be every first Thursday of the month.
